Community Guidelines

Effective Date: 27 July 2026Last Updated: 27 July 2026

Rivals exists to make friendly competition more fun. Whether you're racing to run 100km, battling through Fantasy Premier League, settling a golf trip, competing in the gym, or simply proving who's right, Rivals is designed to help friends challenge each other, raise the stakes, and celebrate the outcome.

The best competitions are built on trust, respect and good sportsmanship. These Community Guidelines explain what we expect from everyone using Rivals.

1.Keep It Friendly

Competition should bring people together, not tear them apart. Be competitive. Celebrate your wins. Laugh at your losses. Just don't make it personal.

Treat every user with respect, whether they're your best mate or someone you've only just met.

2.Respect Other Players

Do not:

  • Harass or bully others
  • Threaten violence or intimidate users
  • Encourage abuse or discriminate against anyone
  • Send hateful or offensive content
  • Share private information without permission
  • Impersonate another person

Healthy rivalry is encouraged. Personal attacks are not.

3.Play Fair

Rivals only works if everyone plays honestly. That means:

  • Record genuine results and upload accurate evidence
  • Don't fake screenshots or manipulate standings
  • Don't create fake accounts or exploit bugs
  • Don't cheat your friends

Winning isn't worth much if you cheated to get there.

4.Honour Your Word

One of the best parts of Rivals is putting something on the line. If you've agreed to a prize, buy-in, reward or forfeit, do your best to honour it.

Pay what you've agreed. Complete the forfeit. Buy the round. Run the extra mile. Wear the embarrassing costume.

Whatever you agreed before the competition started, own it. Your reputation matters. People remember competitors who keep their word.

5.Respect the Stakes

Only create stakes that:

  • Everyone genuinely agrees to
  • Are safe, legal and realistic to complete

Never pressure someone into accepting a stake or forfeit they don't want. If everyone isn't comfortable with it, don't use it.

6.Keep Competitions Safe

Competitions should never encourage:

  • Violence, self-harm or dangerous behaviour
  • Criminal activity, illegal gambling or drug misuse
  • Hate speech or animal cruelty
  • Anything that could seriously injure someone

If a challenge isn't safe, don't create it.

7.Be a Good Winner

Winning is fun. Rubbing it in usually isn't. Celebrate respectfully. Remember that today's loser might beat you next week.

8.Be a Good Loser

Everyone loses sometimes. Accept the result. Congratulate the winner. Complete your agreed stake or forfeit. Then move on to the next challenge.

Some of the best rivalries are built on mutual respect.

9.Upload Genuine Evidence

If your competition requires evidence, make sure it's genuine. Examples include:

  • Activity screenshots and scorecards
  • Leaderboards and match results
  • Photos

Do not:

  • Edit screenshots or upload fake evidence
  • Misrepresent results or claim achievements you didn't earn

10.Respect Privacy

Only upload content that you have permission to share. Do not post:

  • Someone else's personal information
  • Private conversations or confidential documents
  • Content that invades another person's privacy

11.Use Rivals for Friendly Competition

Rivals is designed for social competition. It is not intended for:

  • Illegal betting, fraud or financial scams
  • Money laundering or pyramid schemes
  • Gambling services or commercial exploitation
  • Organised criminal activity

Any attempt to use Rivals for illegal purposes may result in immediate account removal.

12.Report Problems

If you see behaviour that doesn't belong on Rivals, please report it. This includes:

  • Abuse, harassment or cheating
  • Fake accounts or fraud
  • Illegal content or dangerous competitions

We review reports and may investigate where appropriate.

13.Consequences

If these guidelines are broken, we may:

  • Remove content or competitions
  • Restrict features or suspend accounts
  • Permanently ban users
  • Report serious matters to relevant authorities where required

The severity of any action will depend on the nature and seriousness of the behaviour.

14.Help Build the Community

Rivals is built on trust. The best communities aren't created by rules alone - they're created by people who care about each other and enjoy competing in the right spirit.

We encourage you to:

  • Welcome new players and create fun competitions
  • Encourage participation and keep competitions inclusive
  • Celebrate effort as much as victory
  • Honour your commitments and respect every participant

The more you put into Rivals, the better it becomes for everyone.

Our Philosophy

Competition should strengthen friendships, not damage them. The best rivalries are built on trust, respect, honesty and keeping your word.

Play hard.
Play fair.
Honour the stakes.
Respect the result.

Then go again. 💜
